Sorry about the lack of posts

Unfortunately, I haven't really been going out a whole lot.  With this Winter PMSing all over the place, I'm usually in too much pain to go anywhere.  Not to mention the economy sucks and I just haven't been able to afford to go out as much.  If I do go out, it's been fast food and honestly, I don't really want to blog about those places.  I hope that I can have a new blog sometime soon.  But if you have any reviews that you want to submit, I will post them here for you.  :)

Kaiteki Ramen Food Truck - OKC

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112

My family and I went to Haunt Old Moore this past weekend.  While my kids were kinda excited about the concept of candy, I was excited about the Ramen truck.  I kinda wish I hadn't hyped it up so much in my mind.

The taste was great at first, but unfortunately, the price of a small bowl kind of made it not so great.  For $8, I was expecting a little bit more.  It was mostly noodles and broth with very few vegetables.  There really wasn't much different from the kids ramen that I got for my kids except for the few vegetables.  From all the pictures, I was expecting there to be a little bit more.  It just didn't meet my expectations.

I thought with the rain, Ramen would be amazing.  But it wasn't really.  It just wasn't something that blew me outta the water.  The noodles were a bit chewy, the meat was extremely fatty (in fact there was one piece that was just all fat), and again, the vegetables were kinda lacking.

So, for me, it wasn't much to rave about.

I LOVE PHO (A review of Pho B&B in Moore, OK)

I will begin my new review template with a Pho restaurant.

Pho B&B
1615 S. I-35 Service Road
Moore, OK 73160

I have been to this place many times!  It used to be Pho Lan (another blog for later) but ownership changed.  When my husband and I found this out, we were a bit disappointed, wondering if the food had changed.  Luckily, it still tasted wonderful!  We usually get our orders to go so we can eat at home, but in the past few weeks, I have eaten at the restaurant a few times.

The place is very nice.  It's a pretty nice atmosphere.  It's always really clean I have gone in.  The staff is always as attentive as they can be.  Sometimes it seems like they are under-staffed, but for being under-staffed, they do an amazing job.  Especially when you see them running around trying to take orders, delivering food and drinks, and they are STILL able to stop at all the tables to make sure that the customers are doing okay.  I actually felt bad for the lady running around and wanted to grab the water pitcher and fill up the glasses for her.

Our food always comes out in record time and is always steaming hot.  So far, I have never had a bad meal there.  But then again, I haven't gotten anything but the Pho, Shrimp Spring Rolls, and the Eggrolls.  I have, however, heard of others getting other items and they have loved everything they have ever gotten.

If you haven't had Pho, it's an amazing combo of rice noodles, AMAZING broth, some kind of meat (your choice of meatballs, shrimp, brisket, tripe, tendon, etc.), and vegetables (onions, green onions, bean sprouts, cilantro, Thai basil, jalapeno, and lime).  You can mix it all together with Hoison Sauce (brown sauce that has kind of a sweet flavor to it), Sriracha (hot sauce -the one with the green top and rooster on the bottle), and chili sauce.

This is my favorite place to go to for Pho.  I seriously could eat here (or get something to go) every day.  Give it a try!

I'll have more blogs about this place once I try something else on their menu.  And will hopefully remember to take pictures BEFORE I eat it all.

If you try this place and  have an opinion about, please feel free to come back and comment on this post!  :)

Hey everyone!

I know I said to look for many many blogs as I will be reviewing restaurants that I have been to lately.  However, I have been sooooo busy lately, I just haven't had the time.  BUT, I should have a lot of time tomorrow.  :-)  I have also decided to create a Facebook page dedicated to my blogs.  This will include updates on my other blogs.  Hopefully, once I can get into a regular blogging/writing mode, you all will see lots more posts!

No rating system and some changes

I am changing the blog a bit.  I have decided that I don't want to do a rating system.  I'm just one person with an opinion.  Therefore, I will now just change my format.

I will start with the website (if there is one), the address, and the phone number.

Then I will post a short summary of my experience and I will end that summary with whether or not I would recommend that restaurant.

After that, I will go into a little bit more detail about my experience, including service, food, price, and atmosphere.

With the new changes, I will possibly be re-reviewing some of the restaurants that I have been to.  I'll just wait until I actually go to the restaurant again.

I hope that my reviews will help you find an amazing place to eat that fits you!

Oliveto Italian Bistro - Moore, OK-RAVE

My husband and I have tried this place, FINALLY.  I saw it going up when they were building it.  I love Italian food!  There aren't too many places I will go as far as Italian goes.  Now, I will go to Olive Garden for their never ending pasta bowls, but honestly, that really is it.  Johnny Carino's isn't too bad, but it's not someplace that I will think about when I want Italian food.  There is a place in Shawnee that I think about everytime (until now anyways), called Fratelli's.  OMG, they are AMAZING!  But it's a little more than half an hour away from us.  We are in Shawnee MAYBE twice a year and you can bet that is a place that we think about going.

But NOW, we have a place closer to home.  Oliveto's is kind of a Italian restaurant sports bar.  Or so it seems.  We went at lunch, so I'm not sure what the ambiance is like in the evenings (but don't worry, I will soon and I will blog about it).  There were a lot of a tv's on the walls, but only a few were on with college games.  It DID NOT take away from a quiet atmosphere that my husband and I were able to enjoy.

Now, I'll start first with the service.  I LOVED THE SERVICE.  We were greeted right away and seated right away (we got there after the lunch rush, so we were one of maybe a few tables that were there at the time).  Our server (who was also training) was there promptly and getting our drink orders.  He (and his trainee) were very attentive and very nice.  Making jokes, keeping us updated on our food, etc...  I love servers who I feel that I can talk to almost like they were my friends.  Funny moment of our server kinda sliding on the floor, but he was able to make fun of himself while still making sure we were doing okay.  Little Asian dude (can't remember his name for the life of me right now).

Price-wise, they were a little higher than I was expecting, but after eating the food-TOTALLY WORTH IT!  If I remember right, prices ranged from $8 to around $14.  Oh and appetizers ranged from $4.50 to around $9.  Not horribly high, but, like I said, higher than I expected.  This may not see high to some, but we are always having to budget our money and a date is not always in the cards for us.

So, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any free bread, but I was so hungry so I was a little upset period (never make a hungry Asian wait-at least this hungry Asian).  So, we ordered some of their cheese bread for $4.50-their cheapest appetizer.  TOTALLY WORTH PAYING FOR.  Probably the best cheese bread that I have ever eaten!

Now, on to what we ordered for our meals.
I usually always go for the spicy Shrimp or chicken diablo at any place I go to, but today, I wasn't in the mood for that kind of pasta.  So I went with one of their sandwiches.  I got the Tuscan turkey panini with pasta salad.  The sandwich was $8.00.  It was a HUGE sandwich with turkey, avocado, something green (basil maybe...I forgot) and a yummy special mayo.  I got pasta salad with it and it had sun-dried tomatoes in it.  VERY YUMMY!

My husband always gets some kind of alfredo dish when he tries a new Italian restaurant.  He tried the chicken alfredo.  It was made with spaghetti instead of fettuccine like most people are used to.  As with every new (and not so new) restaurant that we go to, I usually steal a bite of his meal (he's gotten to the point where he just offers now, though) and I will tell you, I'm not a HUGE alfredo fan, but this was AMAZING!  It had the spaghetti and some awesome alfredo sauce.  The chicken was still moist (it was cut into strips) and mushrooms.  Add mushrooms to almost anything and I will try it.

All in all, while the prices might be a bit on the higher side (in my opinion-I am always on a budget), I say that it's totally worth it.  I will totally be recommending this place to all of my friends and to anyone who asks for a great place to eat.
